Protest march in Bidar

January 31, 2017 06:03 pm | Updated 06:03 pm IST - Bidar

Members of some groups took out a protest march in Bidar on Tuesday against Ashu Parihar, a video blogger who they alleged had insulted Prophet Mohammad through her posts.

The protestors walked to the Deputy Commissioner’s office holding placards with pictures of the blogger and demanded that the state prosecute her. In a memorandum to the President, they complained that the woman used derogatory terms against the Prophet. They warned that such incidents could lead to communal disharmony and urged the government to ban the video from social media.

M. Khizer Khan of Youth Revolution Group and Syed Altaf of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike led the protest.
