Minister M.B. Patil, others escape unhurt in road accident

District in-change and Water Resources Minister M.B. Patil and others who were travelling in his car escaped unhurt in a road accident near Kerur village of Bagalkot district on Friday.

According the Minister’s personal assistant, Mahantesh Biradar, who was one of the passengers, they were going to Ulavi in Uttara Kannada district for the inauguration of a function to mark Siddarameshwara Jayanti.

While on the way, the front tyre of the vehicle burst following which the vehicle cartwheeled three times before coming to a halt.

All the other passengers, including driver Shankar and gunman Vijayamahanthesh, escaped unhurt and are safe.

They later returned to Vijayapura in a different vehicle.
