Drought in Dharwad district to be studied from Sunday

The second team from the Centre to study the drought will visit Dharwad district on February 12.

The team will visit different villages to get first-hand information about the impact of the drought. It will arrive at Hubballi from Gadag and camp there. The members will hold a meeting of district-level officers and visit Shiraguppi village to inspect fodder distribution and drinking water supply. They will visit fields at Ingalahalli Cross to inspect crop loss, and implementation of works taken under the MGNREG scheme.

Later, the team will visit Nalavadi village in Navalagund taluk to inspect the loss of jowar and safflower crops. It will also inspect the implementation of MGNREG works there. It will proceed to Rottigwad and Sanshi villages and review the drought-relief measures undertaken, a release stated.
