The Sanjaynagar police on Wednesday registered a first information report (FIR) against Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee working president Dinesh Gundu Rao, MLA, following a complaint by BJP MLC Lahar Singh Siroya for releasing a few pages said to be from him his diary that referred to alleged payments made to BJP central leaders.
Mr. Singh has accused Mr. Rao, who released the documents to the media, of playing a role in a conspiracy to defame him as well as the BJP by fabricating documents and forging his signature.
In the complaint, Mr. Singh maintained that an efficient investigation would unravel the genuineness of the documents.
