A few sleeper coaches of trains plying in Mysuru, Bengaluru and Hubballi divisions have been unreserved for the benefit of short-distance travellers between a few identified sections.
According to a release, this has been done to provide a comfortable travel experience for such passengers, who can now buy unreserved journey tickets for commute in these coaches in the notified sections. Passengers travelling in the other coaches will have to pay the difference in fare of the two classes and a penalty, the release said.
The coaches now earmarked as unreserved include four sleeper class coaches (S-6 to S-9) of Train. No. 16591/2 Hubballi-Mysuru Hampi Express (from Hubballi to Hospete, and vice-versa) and two coaches (S-8 and S-9) of the same train between Bengaluru and Mysuru.
Four sleeper class coaches (from S-4 to S-7) of Train No. 17308 Bagalkot-Mysuru Basava Express have been declared unreserved between Bagalkot and Solapur, while three (S-5 to S-7) will be unreserved on Train No. 17307 Mysuru-Bagalkot Basava Express between Mysuru and Bengaluru.
Coaches S-6 to S-9 of Train. No.16535 Mysuru-Solapur Gol Gumbaz Express will be unreserved between Bagalkot and Solapur, and between Mysuru and Bengaluru.
Two sleeper class coaches (S-5 and S-6) of Train No. 17226 Hubballi-Vijayawada Amaravati Express have been declared as unreserved for travel between Hubballi and Hosapete, as have coaches S-7 to S-10 of Train No.16589 Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna Bengaluru-Kolhapur Rani Chennamma Express between Belagavi and Kolhapur, the release said.
