8,043 names in Ballari; 8,793 in Chitradurga

With 464 candidates elected unopposed and no nomination papers filed for 12 seats, 8,043 candidates – 4,085 men and 3,958 women – are in the fray for 3,215 seats in the Gram Panchayat (GP) elections in Ballari district. Polling will be held on June 2.

Elections are scheduled for 196 GPs for 3,691 seats.

Chitradurga

Deputy Commissioner of Chitradurga district, Srirangaiah, said that 8,793 candidates have remained in the fray for 3,092 seats after the scrutiny of nomination papers for the Gram Panchayat (GP) polls, which will be held on June 2.
