80 communal incidents in 3 years

A total of 80 incidents related to communal violence took place in the State in the last three years, Home Minister K.J. George told C.T. Ravi of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Legislative Assembly. The police have registered 1,110 cases; 13 persons have been punished; 65 cases are pending before courts; investigations are on in 14 cases; and persons in 10 cases have been acquitted of charges.
