A 62-year-old woman was found unconscious on a pavement at N.R. Mohalla on Thursday.

According to shopkeepers, the woman, identified as Govindamma, had been there for the last two days, even getting drenched in the rain on Wednesday.

On Thursday morning, passerby who saw her called the ambulance and shifted her to K.R. Hospital. She was identified by the bus pass in her bag. She is being treated at the medical emergency ward, B.G. Sagar, superintendent of the hospital, told The Hindu .

The woman reportedly lived with her daughter and son-in-law at Vinayakanagar, and made a living by working as a domestic help. When she returned from work a couple of days ago, she found her house locked and had to stay put on the pavement. She told doctors that she felt giddy and fell. Dr. Sagar said she was in shock. She reportedly hadn’t eaten in a couple of days.

Her daughter visited her at the hospital on Thursday.
