March 10, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:42 am IST - DHARWAD:

Minister of State for Food and Civil Supplies and District in-charge Dinesh Gundu Rao has said that he would urge the State government to utilise 50 per cent of the property tax collected from industrial estates to develop the infrastructure of the respective estates

Chairing a meeting of industrialists from the industrial estates of Tarihal, Gokul and Belur at the office of the Deputy Commissioner here on Monday, the Minister sought to clarify that the government was not biased towards the industrialists.

“Our government’s priority is to improve the infrastructure of industrial estates across the State,” he said.

He assured the industrialists of calling a high-level meeting of officials of Industry Department in Hubballi shortly to deliberate on the problems of the industrialists from the region.

The industrialists also highlighted the need to set up another 110kv power station at the centre as 12 acre of land was already available for the purpose. The need for setting up a fire station was also stressed.
