The Karnataka Janata Paksha on Saturday released its second list of 33 candidates for the Assembly elections, and it contains the names of five former Ministers and three legislators.
KJP president B.S. Yeddyurappa told a press conference that the former Union Minister Basavaraj Patil Anwari would contest from Gangavati and Vaijanath Patil, who spearheaded the agitation for special status to the Hyderabad Karnataka region, would fight from Sedam in Gulbarga district.
Some of the prominent candidates who have been given ticket are the former Minister Baburao Chavan (Gulbarga Rural), the former legislator Ningappa (Tumkur Rural), the former Minister M.P. Renukacharya (Honnali), Manjunatha Gowda (Tirthahalli), the former Principal Secretary I.R. Perumal (Shivajinagar-Bangalore), the former Minister Shivanand Naik (Bhatkal), Gangadhar Naik (Manvi-ST) and the former MLA Vishwanath (Belur).
Mr. Yeddyurappa said the third list would be released in a couple of days as many more people were seeking the party ticket.
