As many as 36 IAS, IFS, and IPS officers, including those retired, of the State are facing inquiries by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Criminal Investigation Department (CID), departmental, and criminal charges.
In a reply to an unstarred question of G.H. Srinivas of Tarikere, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday said that 11 IAS officers, including those retired, are facing criminal charges. These include Baburao Mudbi, V. Chandrashekar, M.K. Baladevakrishna, Siddaiah, Mohammed A. Sadiq, V. Veerabhadraiah, Sayyed Zamir Pasha, Ramesh Bindurao Zalki (all retired), Shamla Iqbal and Rame Gowda.
The IAS officials facing CBI cases are M.E. Shivalingamurthy (retired), and those facing CID cases are M.K. Ponnappa and K.R. Sunder.
The IAS officers who are facing departmental inquiry are T. Muktamba, B. Bheemaiah, K.S. Prabhakar, M.E. Shivalingamurthy (all retired) and M.K. Ponnappa, M.S. Ravishanker, M.N. Vijayakumar and Ganga Ram Baderiya, all serving.
The IPS officers who are facing criminal cases are B. Srikantappa and K.P. Puttaswamy, the Chief Minister said.
He said that departmental inquiry has been ordered against five IPS officers: B. Srikantappa, M. Nanjundaswamy, H.S. Venkatesh, K.S.N. Chikeroor (retired) and Jayaprakash V. Nayak (retired).
The Indian Forest Service officials facing criminal cases are K.M. Narayanaswamy and H.C. Kantharaj.
The Chief Minister said that CBI cases have been registered against three IFS officers, including S. Muthaiah and Manoj Kumar Shukla.
He said that departmental inquiry has been ordered against 10 IFS officers, including Puneeth Patak, G.A. Sudarshan, S.D. Patak, S. Venugopal, S. Rajendran, Manoj Kumar Shukla, S. Muthaiah, N.L. Shantakumar and H.C. Kantharaj.
Mr. Siddaramaiah said that some officials are facing more than one charge.
