33 H1N1 deaths in State: Minister

As many as 33 people have died due to H1N1 and 19 persons are being treated in Intensive Care Units of different hospitals in the State, said U.T. Khader, Minister for Health and Family Welfare.

Speaking to reporters here on Friday, Mr. Khader said 887 persons have tested positive for H1N1 in the State.

He said the government is taking all necessary measures to control the disease but it is also necessary that people should co-operate with the Health Department in controlling the spread of the disease by taking preventive measures such as wearing masks and immediately consulting the doctor if they have fever.

He also said special attention will be given to Tumakuru district as more number of cases are being reported from the district.
