A 22-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a road accident on Hunsur Road here on Wednesday.
The police identified the deceased as Karthik, a resident of Hinkal in Mysuru. Karthik was returning home after seeing off his relatives at the suburban bus-stand when a car, which was proceeding in front of him on Hunsur Road, suddenly turned around, catching him off guard.
Police officials, quoting eye-witnesses, said Karthik was not wearing a helmet and was on the mobile phone when the accident occurred. He died on the spot. Police shifted the body to the K.R. Hospital mortuary and seized the car.
