Scrutiny of the nomination papers filed in the 11 Assembly constituencies in Mysore district was conducted on Thursday and 17 papers were rejected for various reasons.
As many as 27 persons had filed 39 nomination papers in the Krishnaraja constituency. During the scrutiny, two nomination papers were rejected. In the Chamaraja constituency, where 25 persons had filed 40 nomination papers, one nomination paper was rejected, a press release from the Information Department said.
In the Varuna constituency, one nomination paper was rejected, and of the 31 nomination papers filed by 22 persons in the Narasimharaja constituency, three papers were rejected.
All the eight nomination papers filed in the K.R. Nagar constituency were found valid.
In Periyapatna, one nomination paper was rejected. Similarly, in Hunsur, where 18 persons had filed 29 nomination papers, one nomination paper was rejected.
Four nomination papers were rejected in the H.D. Kote constituency. All the 26 nomination papers filed by 16 persons in the Nanjangud constituency were found valid. In the Chamundeshwari constituency, the nomination papers of the 18 persons were declared valid.
In the T. Narsipur segment, four nomination papers were rejected.
In Mandya

In Mandya district, 117 nomination papers filed by 112 candidates in the seven Assembly constituencies were found to be valid.
Two nomination papers, both filed by A.S. Ravindra Srikantaiah, a Congress rebel in Srirangapatna, were rejected. “The two nomination papers were rejected during the scrutiny conducted at the Returning Officer’s level,” a source said.
Mr. Srikantaiah has filed papers also as an Independent.
Twenty-five nomination papers filed by 19 persons in Srirangapatna were accepted after the scrutiny. Likewise, 26 papers of 22 candidates in Mandya constituency, 22 papers of 18 candidates in Malavalli constituency, 24 papers of 15 candidates in Nagamangala constituency, 11 papers of nine candidates in K.R. Pet constituency, 19 papers of 15 candidates in Melkote constituency and 24 papers of 14 candidates in Maddur constituency were found to be valid after the scrutiny.
In Chamarajanagar

Seven nomination papers were rejected during the scrutiny in Chamarajanagar district. Papers of 53 candidates were found to be valid.
As many as 90 nomination papers were filed by 60 candidates in the four Assembly segments in the district.
Of the 16 papers submitted in Hanur segment, 14 were found to be valid. Of the 14 papers submitted in Kollegal segment, 12 were found to be valid. All the 12 nomination papers filed in the Gundlepet constituency were found to be valid.
In the Chamarajanagar segment, 15 nomination papers were found to be valid and three were rejected.
