122 beneficiaries given free stoves, LPG connections

As many as 122 beneficiaries belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and BPL card holders were given away gas stoves and free LPG connections utilising the funds available under the Special Component Plan, the Tribal Sub Plan and the Mahanagara Palike funds.

Commissioner of Kalaburagi Mahanagara Palike P. Sunilkumar said that the mahanagara palike had selected altogether 440 beneficiaries for providing LPG connections free and gas stoves utilising the Special Component Plan and the Tribal Sub Plan funds for 2013-14 and 2014-15.

In the first instalment, 205 beneficiaries were provided gas stoves and LPG connections a fortnight ago.

On Friday, the mahanagara palike distributed gas stoves and free LPG connections to 122 beneficiaries who had turned up at its office.

The LPG connections are provided free and the beneficiaries would have to purchase LPG cylinders with their own money subsequently.
