The State government has decided to recruit 12,000 guest teachers in primary, high schools and junior colleges and an order is expected to be issued in a few days to commence the recruitment process.
A total of 24,000 teachers’ posts are vacant in government schools in the State.
Addressing presspersons here on Friday, Minister of State for Primary and Secondary Education Kimmane Ratnakar said the Finance Department has accepted the proposal to recruit guest teachers on different pay scales.
Monthly pay scales have been fixed at Rs. 5,000, Rs. 6000 and Rs. 7,200, respectively, for primary, high school and junior college teachers, he said.
