The 17th Gyalwang Karmapa, Ogyen Trinley Dorje — the second most important Tibetan religious leader after the Dalai Lama — on Monday appealed for complete peace and non-violence in the aftermath of the bomb blasts at Mahabodhi temple in Bihar.
In a statement, he said he was deeply saddened to learn about the senseless violence in Bodh Gaya. This is the place where Buddhist pilgrims from India and the world over pay homage to Lord Buddha. Although it was not known who is responsible for the blasts and why, yet as Buddhists, the best homage to Lord Buddha was to uphold his teachings of love and follow non-violence.
