The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has described the crisis in the BJP as a self-created one, while the CPI has adopted a “wait-and-watch” policy.
“This is a self-created crisis for the BJP,” CPI(M) general secretary Prakash Karat told The Hindu .
CPI leader D. Raja said: “Normally the issue should have been an internal matter of the BJP but since it has come out in the public, we will wait and watch to see where it leads to.”
The principal Opposition party was in a crisis, so was the Congress, which suggested that there was need for a new political alternative, he said. A senior leader of that party had revolted against its own leadership which showed that all was not well in the BJP. “The BJP is the political arm of the RSS, which believes in sectarian, divisive ideology and is calling the shots in the party. It appears Mr. Advani, an RSS man, is revolting against the organisation now,’’ Mr. Raja said.
