Rajathi Ammal, mother of DMK MP Kanimozhi and other family members leave from Patiala House court, in New Delhi on Saturday.

Rajya Sabha member Kanimozhi, who is under judicial custody in the Tihar Central Jail in the 2G case, will approach the Delhi High Court for bail.

Addressing journalists outside the Patiala House Courts complex here on Saturday, senior advocate Shanmugasundaram, representing Ms. Kanimozhi, said she was confident of coming out clean in the case.

He said the Special Court hearing the 2G case had appreciated her conduct in its order, though it had denied her bail.

Counsel said he was hopeful of the High Court overturning the lower court order as it had made harsh observations on arresting a person who had appeared in court on issuance of summons.
