Justice J.A. Patil, the retired judge who led the two-member Commission of Inquiry in the Adarsh case, said he was happy to know the State government had accepted the report.
He told The Hindu , “It is better that they accepted the report at least partially. Whether they want to accept it completely or not is their matter of concern.”
BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad said in spite of the pressure from Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi to accept the Adarsh report, the Maharashtra government has decided to do so only partially.
“This is because Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde will have to resign if it is accepted completely.”
Senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley on Thursday said the Congress had still not learnt from its mistakes, despite being routed in four State Assembly polls.
