JPC report only by year-end, says Chacko

July 24, 2011 01:27 am | Updated 01:27 am IST - THRISSUR:

Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) chairman P. C. Chacko has made it clear that the committee will be unable to meet the deadline set earlier in connection with the submission of the report to Parliament on the 2G spectrum scam.

He said here on Saturday that the JPC could submit the report only by the end of December. “The JPC may not be able to meet the deadlines as the investigation is only half-way through. The Committee will seek extension of time from the Speaker Meira Kumar to complete the investigation,” Mr. Chacko said.

The multi-party committee was given the deadline to submit its report to the Lok Sabha Speaker's Office before the commencement of the monsoon session.
