Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday lost her cool when tough questions on the ongoing civilian unrest were directed at her and ended the presser with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh seated in the chair.
A barrage of questions, regarding the PDP-BJP government's inability to address the political problem and end the cycle of violence, saw Ms. Mufti taking umbrage.
"Are children going to buy toffee to the Army camps? What were children trying to at the D.H Pora police station, buy milk?" asked Ms. Mufti in response to a question of growing civilian deaths. "They are being pushed into the fire and used as shields."
It seems Union Home Minister, who has been tapping Ms. Mufti hand apparently asking her to cool down, wanted to take more questions from the journalists. However, Ms. Mufti, immediately after differentiating the 2010 that took place during the Omar Abdullah's reign and the 2016 street uprising, got up and ended the press conference, while visiting Home minister was in his chair.
"Have a cup of tea," said visibly unnerved Ms. Mufti, while ending the press conference, which started around noon at her official residence and lasted more than half an hour.
