Janata Dal (United) president Sharad Yadav released his party’s manifesto on Saturday without knowing its content. “I got the copy of the manifesto today. I’ve just seen it. It is good. It has been prepared by Shaibal Gupta (director of ADRI),” Mr. Yadav said with a straight face, seated next to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. He made it public that the manifesto had been prepared without his involvement and registered his protest. According to sources the draft copy was presented to Mr. Yadav a week ago at the airport here before leaving for Delhi. Mr. Yadav was angry that his name did not figure in the manifesto and contained no message from him.
