Home Ministry on Thursday denied reports that bodies of CRPF jawans who were ambushed by Maoists in Sukma earlier this week had been mutilated.

Acting Director General of the CRPF Sudeep Lakhtakia, who visited Sukma after the incident, is learnt to have told the Home Ministry that post-mortem reports did not support the mutilation claims.

Deadly attack

In one of the worst attacks on security forces in the last seven years, 25 CRPF men who were providing protection to a road construction team were killed by Maoists.
