November 02, 2013 03:37 am | Updated 03:38 am IST - JAIPUR:

The Jaipur Police on Friday registered a First Information Report against BCCI chief N. Srinivasan and his son-in-law and Chennai Super Kings team principal Gurunath Meiyappan to investigate allegations of fixing an IPL match played at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium here on May 12 this year.

The case was registered on the directions of Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate No. 8, before whom Sriganganagar District Cricket Association president Mehmood Abdi had filed a complaint alleging that the duo had fixed a match between Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings. In his complaint, Mr. Abdi alleged that Mr. Srinivasan and Mr. Meiyappan had used their influence to ensure that Chennai Super Kings “underperformed”, in order to gain financial benefits.
