It is Jai Hind for Army personnel

October 02, 2012 05:06 pm | Updated October 18, 2016 12:56 pm IST - NEW DELHI:

To imbibe true army values and strictly adhere to its core values, all ranks of the Indian Army have been directed that Jai Hind as a customary greeting will be used by them while greeting each other, civilian officials and those of the sister Services.

In an order, issued last week on the directions of the Chief of the Army Staff General Bikram Singh, it was made clear that all outdoor events will culminate with Bharat Mata Ki Jai to be repeated thrice. This will be followed by regimental battle cry as applicable.

It said that regimental salutations and greetings may, however, continue within units as per regimental customs and traditions.
