In a sign of continuing improvement in relations between India and China, soldiers of the two countries performed yoga together at Daulat Beg Oldie (DBO) in eastern Ladakh to mark the International Yoga Day on Thursday.

“ Army personnel guarding the borders at Eastern Ladakh celebrated the fourth international yoga day at DBO - Tien Wein Dien Border Meeting Point (BPM) at an altitude of 16,942 feet. The soldiers of both the Army and People’s Liberation Army participated in the event with great enthusiasm and displayed bonhomie between the two great armies,” the Army said in a statement.

Each side saw a representation of 21 soldiers and the event was aimed at further cementing the bonds of friendship and mutual trust between both the nations, the statement added. During the yoga session, a talk was given on the importance of yoga for health and well-being at high altitude.
