The industry has welcomed the decision of the Maharashtra Assembly to vote in favour of the Devendra Fadnavis led minority government stating it was a vote for development.

“The new government of Maharashtra should get adequate opportunity and support from political leadership and the public at large. More so as it is for the first time that development of the state is the single point agenda and the state government needs support for the same,” said D.S. Rawat, national secretary general of ASSOCHAM.

However, he maintained that the stand taken by both the Shiv Sena and the NCP is their internal matter and may be in the interest of their respective parties.

Commenting on the development Vijay Kalantri, president of All India Association of Industries (AIAI) said : " It is a welcome move that the BJP government has sailed through the trust vote. It is development oriented government and should be given a chance. Now the chief minister must concentrate on removing all the stumbling blocks that hindered growth in Maharashtra. All like minded parties should support this government."
