Indian-origin father held over kids’ death in Ireland

An Indian-origin father who went missing with his two sons is being questioned by police over their death in Ireland on Tuesday.

Sanjeev Chada, 43, and 10-year-old Eoghan and 5-year-old Ruairi went missing after leaving the family home at Ballinkillen in Bagenalstown in the Irish county of Carlow on Sunday evening.

The schoolboys were found dead on Monday in the boot of the family car, crashed by their father outside Westport in Mayo county. According to local media reports, police are questioning Chada on suspicion that he murdered his children then tried to take his own life by crashing his car into a wall.
