Indian Army celebrates Infantry Day

Wellington Military Station celebrated 71st Infantry Day on 27 October by organising a solemn but impressive wreath laying ceremony at the war memorial of the Madras Regimental Centre.

Wreaths were laid in the Honour of these infantry men who made supreme sacrifice for the nation.

Infantry Day is celebrated on 27 Oct 2017 since on this momentous day in 1947 the first contingent of infantary landed at Srinagar Airfield and fought a courageous battle to save Kashmir Valley from intruders.
