Alleging that the Joint Parliamentary Committee report on spectrum allocation was “more political than parliamentarian,” the DMK on Thursday urged Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar to direct JPC Chairman P.C. Chacko to resubmit it after including the former Telecom Minister, A. Raja’s statement.

The party’s T.R. Baalu, who was a member of the JPC, in his letter to Ms. Kumar accused the Chairman of playing a “partisan and political role.”

Mr. Baalu expressed shock that the final report did not include his full note of dissent, which contained Mr. Raja’s full statement as well. Also, the DMK MP said, the JPC Chairman breached his assurance to Mr. Raja that his submissions would be made part of the final report.

Jpc report seems to be totally political. It does not matter wether Mr. Raja guilty or not.The
speaker after getting elected should be fair to all. The report needs to returned. Let the
courts decide the matter.

Raja time and again says that he had taken all decisions with the full
knowledge of PM ! He also says that PM retained him as Minister in spite
of allegations against him [ Raja ]. Hence to give a fair chance of the
alleged accused ,Raja's statement should be included in JPC . What is
the wrong if PM and FM are to be called before JPC to present their
point of view !Why the report is submitted in haste ???
