The death toll in the bomb blast at a parking lot at Moirangkhom on October 30 has increased to 3 with the death of another taxi driver on Thursday night. He was identified as Rajen Laishram. He had been undergoing treatment in a private hospital for head injuries. Six other persons are still in hospital.

Meanwhile Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh has announced ex-gratia payment of Rs. 5 lakh each to the next of kin of the three dead drivers and Rs. 50,000 to the injured persons.

There is a widespread condemnation to the blast at the taxi stand. Most of the insurgent groups have denied any hand in the blast and there is no claim from any outfit so far. Police are also clueless in the investigation.
