The Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (IIM-C) has been ranked No. 1 in areas of finance education and No. 2 in economics by the Financial Times Global Masters in Management 2013, a statement issued by the institute said here on Thursday.

It was also ranked the top in career and that ranking is based on the career status of alumni three years after graduation. Last week, the IIM-C had disclosed that it had been ranked 19 in the overall evaluation among 70 leading business schools around the globe for its post graduate programmes in management.

Pointing out that IIM-C has been the “preferred destination for students in the country aspiring for a career in finance,” Prof. Ashok Banerjee, Dean of New Initiatives and External Relations, told The Hindu that “this ranking vindicates that it also globally features among the best.”
