Uncertainty over the screening of S Durga at the International Film Festival of India 2017 continued even after a four-hour meeting by a panel on Monday evening.

The festival draws to a close on Tuesday.

Rahul Rawail, who replaced Sujoy Ghosh as jury chairman for the Indian Panorama section, said that the jury’s decision would be conveyed to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Stating that the matter was sub judice, Mr. Rawail said that the I&B Ministry would let the Kerala High Court know of the decision.

A jury member, requesting anonymity, said that the majority of the panel had voted in favour of the screening of the film.

Some of the jury members had resigned in protest against the I&B Ministry’s direction to drop S Durga from the original line-up.
