An IAF helicopter carrying seven senior officers landed under emergency conditions on Sunday morning at an agricultural field in Mahabubnagar district due to inclement weather, police said.

“The helicopter took off from Yelahanka Air Force Station in Bangalore and was proceeding towards Hyderabad, but made a forced emergency landing at a field due to poor weather condition,” a senior police officer told PTI over phone.

All seven senior officials of the IAF on board were safe.

The Met Department had on Saturday issued a warning of heavy rains in some districts of Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh as the deep depression in the Bay of Bengal had crossed the South Orissa coast.
