IAF Chief oversees relief operations

Giving further push to the ongoing rescue and relief operations in flood-hit Jammu and Kashmir, Chiefs of Staff Committee Chairman and IAF Chief, Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha, on Tuesday carried out aerial survey of North and South Kashmir.

After taking stock of the relief operations being carried out by the armed forces, Mr. Raha also called on State Governor N.N. Vohra and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.

He assured that the operations would continue till there was requirement.

Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, NH-1A was opened for traffic by the sustained efforts of the Border Roads Organisation and Army Engineers.
