Hooch claims seven lives in U.P.

Seven people, including a woman, died and four others were taken seriously ill after they consumed spurious liquor in Mirpur Khawjpur village here, police said on Wednesday.

The deceased, all labourers, had on Tuesday night consumed the country made liquor bought from Mirzapur village, Senior Superintendent of Police, Bulandshahr, Nilesh Kumar said, adding seriously ill have been admitted to a district hospital.

The liquor shop has been sealed and the shop-owner taken into custody, he said.
