As Chariman of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on 2G Spectrum allocation issue P.C. Chacko announced September 27 as the new date for the Committee meeting, the DMK on Saturday protested against his move for 'unilaterally' announcing the date.

DMK parliamentary party leader and JPC member T.R. Baalu, in a letter to Mr. Chacko, asked him to fix the new date any day after October 1 as “the proposed meeting has got a lot of significance as we have to take a crucial decision before we adopt the draft [report] which you have placed.” He charged that the courtesy extended to two other members to change September 23 (originally scheduled) meeting to some other date was missing. “Am I to believe even courtesy will be extended according to political colour,” he wondered.
