U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will be in India from May 5-8, the U.S. State Department announced.
After prior halts first in Beijing from May 3-4 and then in Dhaka, Ms. Clinton will touchdown in Kolkata, where she will meet state officials and civil society organisation representatives.
Following that, she will meet with Indian government officials in New Delhi, to review progress in the strategic partnership, in preparation for the U.S.-India Strategic Dialogue to be held in Washington on June 13, and to be co-chaired by Secretary Clinton and External Affairs Minister S. M. Krishna, the State Department said.
The first stop in China will have Ms. Clinton accompanied by Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, and the two American leaders will join their Chinese co-chairs, Vice-Premier Wang Qishan and State Councillor Dai Bingguo, for the fourth joint meeting of the U.S.-China Strategic and Economic Dialogue.
