High Court allows NIA to question Sadhvi in murder case

May 18, 2012 11:02 pm | Updated November 16, 2021 10:49 pm IST - Bhopal:

The Madhya Pradesh High Court has allowed the National Investigation Agency to question Sadhvi Pragnya Thakur in connection with the murder of the former RSS pracharak, Sunil Joshi.

However, a Division Bench of Justices Rakesh Saxena and S C Sinho on Thursday made it clear that she could be questioned only in the presence of her counsel, R. N. Singh.

Earlier, a special NIA court allowed the agency to question Ms. Thakur and submit a report last month. However, the exercise was delayed as she moved the High Court, claiming that the Madhya Pradesh police had already chargesheeted her in the case and therefore the NIA could not be allowed to do the same.

The NIA is investigating Ms. Thakur in Bhopal.

She is also being probed across border under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act for her alleged roles in bomb blasts.
