Hema Malini, BJP MP from Mathura, on Tuesday said she is expecting a just verdict in the hit-and-run case against actor Salman Khan.

“Salman is one of the most popular heroes of today and also a wonderful person. Unfortunately, some unavoidable things have happened. We are all with him, and we are only expecting a just verdict,” she said at a press conference.

A Mumbai court would deliver the judgment on May 6 in the 2002 case.

Defends Modi

Defending Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the land Bill issue she said: “Modi ji would never do anything for his own profit. He does not need that. His contribution to developing Gujarat poses as a great example. He has always worked for the betterment of the poor. BJP is always with the farmers. The accusation made by Congress regarding the Land Acquisition Bill, is absolutely wrong. These are false rumours being spread about BJP working for selfish motives.”
