Blistering heat threw life out of gear as people preferred to stay inside and all other activities came to a standstill in the western Odisha towns.

The State government has so far confirmed eight deaths due to scorching heat this summer.. While Angul district reported three deaths due to sunstroke, two persons died of heat stroke in Sambalpur and Bargarh district.

According to Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre, Balangir is followed by Titlagarh with 45.5 degree Celsius.
