BJP president Nitin Gadkari on Saturday expressed profound grief and deep sorrow over the demise of the former RSS chief, K.S. Sudarshan.
“Sudarshanji’s death is unfortunate for all of us. He was a ‘Preranastrot’ [source of inspiration] to everyone in the Sangh Parivar. He was an engineer by profession and passed all the exams meritoriously. He could have led a luxurious life but he chose to dedicate it for the country,” said Mr. Gadkari in his condolence massage.
“Swadeshi was very close to his heart and his work stretched from Assam to Karnataka to almost every part of India. Sudarshanji’s demise has left a big vacuum; it’s a wound which will not be healed. His selfless life will be a source of inspiration to all of us.”
Mr. Gadkari said Mr. Sudarshan stepped aside as the RSS chief when he thought he was not physically fit for the job. “The BJP expresses deep condolences over his death.”
According to Mr. Gadkari, the last rites will be performed at 3 p.m. on Sunday at the Reshimabag Ground in Nagpur. Senior BJP leaders including L.K. Advani, Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley are expected to attend the last rites.
