Telgi was granted bail in three cases out of the eight in which he was involved in Karnataka.
The Karnataka High Court today granted bail in three cases to the main accused in the multi-crore fake stamp paper racket, Abdul Karim Telgi, who is lodged in the Parappana Agrahara jail here.
After conclusion of arguments by the Special Public Prosecutor and the petitioner’s counsel, Justice V. Jagannathan granted bail in three cases out of the eight in which he was involved in Karnataka. Of the eight, he has already been acquitted in four.
Earlier, Telgi’s counsel Shankarappa submitted that the petitioner was suffering from terminal ailments and had been ailing for a long time.
He further submitted that the accused, who was arrested on November 22, 2001, had already served a jail term of nearly 10 years.
