A Division bench of the Bombay High Court at Goa comprising Justice F.M Reis and Justice K.L Wadane on Thursday ousted a three-member election committee which was appointed by president of Goa Cricket Association (GCA) Shekhar Salkar to conduct the elections

scheduled for June 28tfor the Managing Committee of the GCA for the term 2015-2018.

While scrapping the committee, the High Court also appointed a three member committee headed by retired High Court Judge Justice A.P. Lavande to conduct the elections.

The other two members of the committee are Senior Advocate Nitin Sardessai and Rajinikant Lawanis.

The Court in its order expressed the need that any election should be free and fair.

The Court observed that after examining the records it was very evident that Mr. Salkar had attempted to make it a one-sided contest.
