Gurugram murder case: police arrests two office-bearers of Ryan School

As per preliminary investigation by a three-member committee CCTVs at strategic points in the school were missing.

Two senior office-bearers of Ryan International School management have been arrested under the Juvenile Justice Act for alleged security lapses.

Those arrested are Regional Head Franchis Thomas and Human Resources Department Head Jeyus Thomas. “The two were arrested late on Sunday night,” said Gurugram Police spokesperson.

Haryana Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma had on Sunday afternoon said that a case was registered against school management and the owner under Section 75 of JJ Act.

As per preliminary investigation by a three-member committee CCTVs at strategic points in the school were missing, support staff was allowed to share toilets with students and verification of staff was also not done.

Gurugram Police Commissioner Sandeep Khirwar has also put Station House Officer, Sadar Sohna police station, Inspector Arun Kumar under suspension for lathicharge on journalists. At least half-a-dozen journalists were injured when the police baton charged them without provocation. Two photojournalists had sustained fractures.
