Gurudas accuses PM of dereliction of duty

October 06, 2013 03:11 am | Updated November 16, 2021 09:19 pm IST - NEW DELHI:

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Finance Minister P. Chidambaram betrayed national interest by not stopping then Communications Minister A. Raja from going ahead with the 2G spectrum allocation in violation of rules, says Communist Party leader and Lok Sabha MP Gurudas Dasgupta in his dissent note to the JPC.

Maintaining that Dr. Singh could not “be absolved of the serious charge of dereliction of duty”, the JPC member said: “The PM had only pretended to remain at an arm’s length because he preferred remaining in office as a matter of greater [priority] than acting to prevent [a grave] irregularity.”
