BSP supremo Mayawati, whose party is providing outside support to UPA, on Monday pressed the government to take steps to bring back black money into the country and extended her support to all anti-corruption agitations which were above party politics.
The former UP Chief Minister said if the Centre had taken timely steps to address the matter, the Supreme Court would not have had to intervene in the “serious issue“.
“We have supported every such organisation and stage which is above party politics and agitating against corruption... This is a serious matter and all political parties should rise above party politics and make efforts to end corruption,” Ms. Mayawati told reporters.
The BSP chief was asked if her party supported the anti-corruption agitation of Baba Ramdev.
“It is the Centre’s responsibility to take along all parties and try to find a way to bring back black money and if this money comes back to India, people living below poverty line will be able to lead a decent life,” she said.
Asked if BSP would support Baba Ramdev’s agitation which was backed by NDA leaders, she said, “I don’t have to say anything about anybody’s platform... There should be some middle path through which the money away stashed in foreign banks can be brought back.”
Meanwhile, Congress leader Rajiv Shukla attacked NDA on the issue of black money, saying, “During UPA II, we have recovered Rs 48,000 crore through the tax notices sent to people. I want to ask if during NDA regime they were able to recover even Rs 48.”

Strange are the ways of politicians. When Team Anna was crusading for anti corruption and strong lokPal ,she was one among them with Mulayam singh, Yadav,LaluPrasad Yadav,sided with the UPA and ensured strong lokpal bill was not enacted.She lost her gaddi in U.P.To come to limelight supported UPA nominee for Presidential election.Her only intention is to come back to power with support of RamDevji.It will be a sad day if Ramdevji do not understand this.He should ask them to ensure that lokpal bill as suggested by TeamAnna.and make necessary amendments to bring electoral reforms.
It is heartening to see Ms.Mayavati,talking about blackmoney redemption.We can get rid of black money stashed away in foreign shore,by declaring that if the money is brought back and made into garlands and presented to netas,then there will be no penalty or punishment,you can see garlands hanging from aircrafts touching the ground will be brought and we can witness the replica of scenes enacted in Lucknow,a few years back, all over India.
First let us find a way to dig out all the black money WITHIN India. What is abroad must be a miniscule fraction of this humongous loot. Let's start with investigating Maya.

Dear Rajiv Ji, does recovering 48k crore give you the right to stash abroad 50k crore( or even rupee 1) abroad as black money.
