The Union government is planning a month-long celebration on completing its third year in power in May, with Information and Broadcasting Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu issuing elaborate instructions on the plan.
Sources said here on Tuesday that Mr. Naidu briefed BJP MPs about the plans, which will see them travel to various parts of the country between May 24 and June 24.
Senior Ministers have been told to be prepared to respond to people’s questions on their work and that of the government. For example, Power Minister Piyush Goyal has been asked to prepare notes on the anti-corruption architecture put in place by the government, including the decision on demonetisation.
As last year, a Group of Ministers had been set up to look into the preparations. “We have barely met three or four times, but this is the basic preparatory work we have come up with,” a senior Minister said.
