Govt. calendar has cleanliness, digital India as themes

December 18, 2014 02:12 am | Updated 02:12 am IST - New Delhi:

India’s official calendar for 2015 reflects the Union government’s commitment to cleanliness and vision of Digital India, Information and Broadcasting Minister Arun Jaitley said while releasing it here on Wednesday.

The calendar, with its theme on “Clean India, Green India” with a focus on sanitation and environmental issues, was developed by the Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity in print and digital formats.

“Every year, the DAVP releases the Government of India’s official calendar … but this time it’s a bit different … this time, the calendar has the convergence of two flagship programmes of the government, Swachh Bharat and Digital India,” he said.

The digital version of the calendar reflects the vision of the government in taking forward the benefit of technology in information dissemination, Mr. Jaitley said.

Mobile app

The mobile app of the calendar provides access to the latest tweets from the Prime Minister’s Office, the YouTube Channel of the I&B Ministry and press releases on the Press Information Bureau website. The calendar is now on the Android platform, but will be later made available on other mobile platforms.

Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Rathore and Secretary, Information and Broadcasting, Bimal Julka were present.
